Mexico: Swimming with sharks in Mazatlan

Mazatlan Aquarium offers 'swimming with sharks' in their shark tank for a substantial charge. Five cat sharks, each around 2 to 2.5 metres in length, live there and, provided you are careful, are worth taking the risk of being in the same tank as them.   • Holding a pregnant female shark under its belly. This Ian found more difficult than swimming holding onto the dorsal fin. It was the rough skin and proximity to the face/mouth/eyes of the shark that was 'the problem'
