  • Bonahaven: Another view of the former Excise house. In the 1950s the road wasn't tarmaced and the field to the right didn't have an enormous bonded whisky warehouse in it
  • The garage (the one on the right) with Ian's house behind. From 1953 to 1956 the garage housed Ian's parent's Austin 7; from 1956 a new Ford Popular (reg no 456 FHN)
  • Ian Goodall's primary school from 1953 to 1958. Miss Lena Ramsay was the only teacher with a record number of twelve pupils and five 'year groups' in the one room. The middle window, top left pane, is the one Ian broke when he threw a ball in its direction (and it looks as though it's been broken again since 1959)
