  • The Athletic Arms, aka 'The Diggers'. Many happy memories - and perhaps too memorable for the wrong reasons for Jennifer, Alan & Fiona - of this iconic Edinburgh pub. Not the same without Bill Farmer and his 'boys' and the McEwans 80/- which was to die for (to coin a pun on the reason for the pub being known as 'the diggers')
  • Edinburgh, home of McEwans is the best buy, the best buy in beer. Sadly the thirteen fonts selling McEwans 80/- have vanished from 'The Diggers'. But the bar remains largely unchanged
